Ripoff Told me a lie about needing work that had just been done by someone else

I had just purchased a used car and the car needed a new tie-rod end replaced. I had a friend of mine who does mechanic work help me replace it with a new one.

I needed an alignment done after replacing the tie rod, so I had my wife take it by Big O tires to have it done. The manager there told her the same tie rod that I had just replaced was bad and would have to be replaced before the alignment could be done. He told her the car was unsafe to drive and needed to be fixed immeditately. He was clearly trying to take advantage of her.

She phoned me and told me what he said and he confirmed to me over the phone that the same tie rod I had just replaced the day before was old and worn out. He did not know I had just replaced that same part. He was going to take our money and do no work, since the car needed no work. Over $200 worth.

When I confronted him about this, he told me he had made a mistake and had our car mixed up with another. I do not know how that was possile when my car was the only car in the shop at the time. I would not have any work done at Big O Tires of Glasgow. If they would lie and try to ripe us off, then anyone is game for them. I could not believe it.
