Lost my 50 year old slides - photo copying

My mother took our 50 year old slides to the Walmart photo lab to have them scanned and copied onto Cd's. The store told her it would take a week. When she returned for pick up they were not ready yet. So she waited another week and then was took they were still not ready. After several weeks my mom was really concerned and the clerk told her to call the lab and ask for an update. At this time she finds out say they have been delivered and must have been lost. And there was no way to recover the scan because they waited too late to call the lab. The store clerk should have called the lab on her first visit to pick them up. Our 50 year old family pictures are gone. Thank you Walmart and Fuji lab.
