Kwik Kar in North Dallas is a scam. My husband brought his Mercedes convertible in for an oil change. He did not request any other work other than an oil change. They pulled up the hood and pulled off the belt and then claimed it was broken and could not get it on. What was supposed to be a ten minute oil change turned into a 90 minute nightmare. They wanted to charge him for a new belt and various other items, he told them to put his car back together pronto-explained that he only wanted an oil change. It took them 90 minutes to put his car back together and get out of there. I was out running errands and when my husband told me via his cell phone what was going on, I stopped in to the place myself. When we were checking out, they wanted to charge 125.00 for the oil change which was insane. We asked them WHY the charge was so high and we were told by the manager "that if they only charged for oil changes-they would not make any money"!!! In the past, when we have replaced the oil and this car, the charge was always 70.00 because it uses synthetic oil. They wanted 125.00. We inisisted on a lower amount and they lowered it to 90.00. These guys litterly told us to our faces that they scam customers, because they don't make money doing oil-changes-which is what their business is supposed to do! RUN AS FAST AS YOU CAN from these guys-total scam artists.
