Failed to Honor "Lifetme Warranty"

I purchased a crankshaft sensor for my 1993 Volvo 940 on January 26. There were three models of my part available. The counter person recommended the higher priced part, touting the "Lifetime Replacement Warranty." I opted for this part.
On June 29, the part failed.
On July 08, I removed the part and returned it to the store along with my sales receipt which clearly states LIMITED LIFETIME REPLACEMENT.
Expecting the courtesy of a "no questions asked" warranty replacement, I felt like I was given the "third degree" about the parts exchange, basically called a liar because, as they said, "the part did not, and could not have come from their store."
This morning I was contacted by the store manager, in an attenpt to "smooth things over" by offering me a complimentary $25.00 Gift Certificate. Big deal, the part was nearly $61.00
I will be notifying my credit card company for reimbursement for $60.84
Another Crankshaft Sensor was located at a nearby competitor, for less money, this morning, and installed in my Volvo. It is now running just fine.
