Purchased 2001 BMW from David Bowen. It was advertised in AutoTrader as "looks and drives like new". It bas backed into parking spot and on test drive I never used reverse on automatic transmission. Was satisfied with car and purschased with an "as is" agreement. Got car home 1 hour later and found out that car would not reverse. Called David Bowen back and asked for my money back.

After some stalling on his part we returned with the car the next morning (within 24 hours) and he refused to refund our money claiming that he did not have any money. I have taken it to the dealer and they said the transmision was shot and wanted $8085.00 to replace. Mr Transmission wants $3500 to repair transmission. Every shop I spoke with said the transmission was bad. Transmission Fluid was burnt indicating a long term problem with transmission. This was clearly the case when the car was purchased.

This business, in my opinion knew, the problem existed and failed to disclose the discrepancy with advertised condition and the true condition of the car. An employee had been driving the car for the past two weeks. It clearly would not reverse during that time. This condition does not occur quickly. The owner would not meet with us and refused to accomodate us in any way. The public needs to be aware of their business methods so that no one else has this happen to them.
