Refused to pay actual costs! Rip-off!

I have trip interruption protection on my 2002 Jaguar X-Type. Read the protection carefully - it covers only food and lodging and towing the vehicle. My car broke down (for the second time in 20K miles) in Manhattan (I live in Virginia). It broke down on Saturday near where we were staying with a friend. I did not ask for reimbursement for food or lodging.

On Monday morning it took us 4.5 hours and 63 cell phone calls to get a rental car. We sat in an outdoor cafe from 7:30 AM to 12:45 PM. Trip interruption would not pay for the cell phone overrage ($92.00)
