Ripoff tries to rip me off AGAIN!

Earlier this year I noticed a decided wobble in my steering wheel. My husband drove the vehicle and thought I needed some new shocks or even my brakes worked on. We took my vehicle into Tires Pluss at Washington Square Mall in Indianapolis, IN. We spoke with a gentleman named Mike. He looked at my vehicle and determined that to eliminate the wobble I needed two new front shocks, two new back shocks, rear brake work and front brake work.

Well, we spent $568.00 on this work. However, the wobble didn't go away. I subsequently took my vehicle into several of their competitors who tried diagnosing the problem. We tried wheel balancing, wheel rotation, wheel alignment, none of which worked.

At this point, we took it back to Tires Plus and spoke with the same gentleman, Mike. He said he'd look at it and get back to us. He called a few hours later to say that it was my universal joints and that it would be $603.00 to fix. I was floored.

I was talking to a friend of mine at work who saw that I was upset and told him what Tires Plus had said. He told me that it didn't sound right. He called the dealer for my vehicle, described the problem I was having and the dealer said it sounded to him like a steering stabilizer. The dealer said my vehicle is prone to that part going bad. I called Tires Plus and told them we were going to take it to the dealer to see if it was a covered repair and I picked up my vehicle. My husband picked up the part on the way home and the next day, my friend at work spent his lunch hour removing my old steering stabilizer and installing the new one. I drove it right after and the wobble was gone! He'd fixed it.

Tires Plus not only took us for $568.00 worth of work that I probably didn't need back in May of but then tried to get us again for $603.00 that was unnecessary.

It's my advice to all who would frequent Tires Plus; Go elsewhere. They are nothing but rip off artists.
