Aamaco Transmissions
Ripoff unauthorized repair!

I had my 97 gmc yukon towed a friend of mine's shop and he told me he thought it COULD be a transmission problem and he didnt work on transmissions, so the closet transmission shop to his shop was a Aamaco, so i called them told them were the truck was and they said they would tow it to there shop and figure out what the problem was... Well about 4 days AFTER they had my truck, i called and spoke to the guy I had spoke to the first time about the tow, and asked if they had found out what was the problem?

His reponse to me was " well yeah, your transmissions shot, but i have it hooked up to our machine now that will tell me whats the problem." well my reponse was... Well which one is it? Is the transmission shot, or do you have hooked to a machine to tell you the problem??? And he replyed well its definatly the tranny but ill have more information for you tomarrow, and ill give you a call back.

Well 6 days later!!! (yesterday) I recieved a phone call from him telling me "Well you truck is done." and the total is $ 2200.00. And i was completly speechless i said WHAT??? Who the hell told you to go ahead and fix it? I never even recieved a phone call on what the digonices was, or the price and all he said to me was oh... Well i thought you were in a hurry to fix it. Who in the hell told him to repair it dont they have to have some type of written consent or something???
