Takes your money but doesn't really cover average repairs needed

I bought a 2005 used vehicle and added the Elite Standard Warranty program based on recommendation from dealer, and based on a recent experience with another used car I bought. The plan home page states coverage Day One, but actually will not cover anything for 90 days. That was okay. So, I start hearing a noise coming from the engine compartment and investigate as best I could what might be the cause. It sounded like an serpentine belt Idler pulley, so took it to a mechanic. They found nothing, but charged me for looking (standard op procedure). I check with Elite. No coverage for that.
Problem continues and finally, I figure it is coming from Power Steering pump. I take it to mechanic today and get estimate. I then call Colen Sweeten, Manager at Elite, about whether they will cover the repairs of this item. NOPE.
So, I decide to query deeper into what they do cover.internal lubricated parts of engine and trans, plus alternator, water pump. Stuff that seldom ever breaks. So I ask for my money back. Nope. Won't refund anything after 10 days. That note is embedded in very indetectable small print on the edge of the contract, in cryllic language, I guess. As an earlier complainant stated, I have never used the warranty, so they have not had to pay out a cent on the contract, so they lose nothing. As with most insurance things, they take, but don't ever try to collect.
I asked Colen why cover alternator and not cover power steering or steering components. His comment, "That's the way the contract is written!" Duh!
