BMG Motors - Lance Benedict
Misrepresented condition of car and won't send title transfer paperwork

Similar to the previous report about BMG Motors, the car I received was grossly misrepresented in terms of its cosmetic and operating condition. The car required over $2K of work to make it operational and would need thousends more to bring it to the "excellent" condition described in the ad.

Furhter, Mr. Benedict deceived me as to the location of the car, listing it in CA when it was actually in a driveway in New Jersey - dead battery, filthy, shot cooling system.

I incurred significant additional expense in securing the car and shipping it to my desired location because Lance assured me he would arrange transport, then disappeared with no arrangements to ship the car two days before I needed it.

Finally, Mr. Benedict sent incomplete title transfer documents and no proper bill of sale, making it impossible to legally register the car. Desite my continued requests for proper documentation, I receive no response.

When my corporate lawyer contacted Mr. Benedict, he responded (via email) that BMG is out of business and offered a fraction of the damages as compensation. He has not, however, made good on his settlement offer either.

As of today (7/26/04), he does not return phone calls or emails, or send the required documents to complete the deal.

Also, there is no BMG Motors in any address listing/directory, he has no land line telephone - only a cell, and there is no business in CA legally registered under BMG Motors. This is a shadow operation.
