List part on website that doesn't fit the auto, don't answer phone, no customer service, charge restocking fee for their erro

Cars & Transport

I ordered a muffler for my 1992 BMW 325i from parts geek in March. It was listed on their website as fitting 1988 to 1992 model year of the 325i base model BMW. When it arrived I took it too thw muffler shop to have it installed and was informed it was the wrong muffler for my vehicle.

After multiple attempts to reach the Partsgeek by phone and being routed thru a lenghty muzak robo answer I was hung up on. It appears the customer service is by filing a 'ticket' on their website only. I stated my case on a ticket and two days later I recieved a brief misspelled response that didn't even address the issue. I of course ten went to another company that had the good sense to answer the phone and my questions to put me in the right muffler, and ordered the proper part informing parts geek that i would be returning the part and did not expect to be charged a restocking fee as it was their error.

Of course I got a generic response from partsgeek letting me know that I was being charged a restocking fee without addressing my concern that the part is listed wrong on their website. Next I will be filing a complaint with My states attorney General and visiting various BMW Forums to sound the call to avoid this company.
