Lied about work needing to be done, Overpriced, Wanted $1400 - Another Mechanic said it needed $550

We went to Midas since they were conveniently located and had decent Saturday hours.

We were told that the car needed $1400 worth of work to pass inspection which was a big shocker.

Not trusting the mechanic, we went to another mechanic locally a few days later to find out that the car did not need half of the items that the Midas said were needed to pass inspection.

The other mechanic would have passed the car with $260 worth of work, but we decided to put a little more into it totaling the price to $550.

It is outrageous that this continues to happen over and over again. I am a woman who made the appointment and who they were dealing with, so I have seen this before. I believe they were fully trying to take advantage of the situation. I am sure that I was the target consumer for them.

When I told the second mechanic that Midas said the car needed rotors and brakes, front and rear, he laughed and said, "NOT EVEN CLOSE". What a ripoff.
