Cortez Towing
Ripoff broke into my car, removed parking stickers and put them in the glove box then towed my car away. Rip-off!

I am a Resedent of University Greens Apartments. Located in Riverside, California. On 5-24-04 at 9:30pm my car was parked outside my apartment and my parking stickers for the complex were located on my review mirror as always when I left for work.

A friend of the family visiting left at 12.30am 5-25-04 and also verified the parking stickers were present in plain view site on the rear view mirror. At 7.00am when I returned from work my car was missing. I found my car to have been taken by Cortez Towing Company, their claim is that no parking sticker was present.

We were told to bring 202.00 dollars in cash if we wanted to pick up our car. The towing company took a picture of the front of the car to show there was no parking stickers before they towed my car, but the picture also shows the passengers door lock had been opened. This was visable in the picture to the Officer who took a police report.

When we picked up our car the reseptionest chose to argue with my wife.in the back lot the car doors were all locked but in the picture the passenger door was unlocked. They forgot to lock the door after breaking into my car possibly with a slim jim and had taken the picture showing the car unlocked. The parking stickers were found in the glove box. Their claim is they don't have access to peoples' cars.

Ah Hellow! This is a towing company and the officer informed my wife due to the nature of there business they can get in anyones car. The Cortez Towing company stole my car and then made me pay to get my car back. I know there are others here in this apartment who have been victems of this company I see them here all the time.

Now they have reverted to sneaking in here in the middle of the night and stealing the resedences' cars and demanding money in return for our stolen property. I have filed a police report and filed a complaint with the BBBc and I am pending a complaint with the University Greens Home Owners Association.

The BBBc put a red flag on their business and to all who read this or has had a problem I hope you post your complaint and make a police report. Should any one have anything I could use to show the Home Owners Association that this company needs to be forbidden from coming into this complexs it would help.

There are good towing companies out there that don't steal peoples cars. This one has to go, they are making us victems of there greed and they think it is your word aganist theres and that you have no legal recourse to follow against them. Remember this. It could be you next time paying 202.00 dollars out of your pocket to get your car back they stole FROM YOU.
