Larry Miller Nissan
Gross misdiagnosis of car repai

Cars & Transport

I only took my vehicle into this dealership because I was feeling a strong grinding vibration upon accelerating my vehicle in first gear. I made it clear to Larry Miller Nissan's service department that the grinding vibration was almost only felt in first gear and only sometimes briefly felt in second gear.

After an 80 dollar diagnosis, they notified me that the rear differential had gone out and that it needed to be replaced. All in all, they were unable to find an actual Nissan turbo differential. I had to order the part myself because I was more successful in finding one.

After ordering a $2,500 turbo differential and a turbo drive shaft to Larry Miller Nissan, they were set to install my new parts. They contacted me shortly thereafter, notifying me that the rear sub frame was from the non-turbo model, which I was unaware of since I was told that the car had been switched over to a turbo model.

I sent the differential back to the parts company named performancezconcept parts. They charged me a 25% restocking fee for the differential which turned out to be around $700.By this point Larry Miller Nissan had located an aftermarket differential which would cost me $2,100. When I saw this amount I laughed and asked for my keys. They re installed the old differential and driveshaft. They charged me $700 in labor.

Finally, I took my car to a specialist who told me after briefly feeling the grinding vibration from a road test that there was no possible way that this grinding would be from a rear differential going out, thus making the initial Larry Miller Nissan diagnosis a grossly incorrect one. This specialist notified me that the problem was likely a bad u-join or center bearing from the driveshaft. I ordered a new center bearing for the driveshaft which was only $100 since I demaned an official Nissan part, otherwise, I would have spent around $50 to repair the problem with my car.in conclusion, Larry Miller had intended to charge me around $1000 labor and $2,100 for a rear differential that wasn't even a Nissan differential, it was aftermarket. $3,100 for a bad driveshaft center bearing. That's how professional and honest they are at Larry Miller Nissan. I drive a relatively nice sports car and they saw dollar signs in their eyes when I drove up straight out of a cartoon. I plan on filing in small claims court for the $1400 I am out due to their misdiagnosis. Not to mention, it took them three weeks of having possession of my car to finally get it back to me unfixed. Funny how they picked just about the most expensive part which was quote unquote responsible for my car troubles when the differential is fine. Numerous other professionals have reassured me that the differential is fine.

I am looking for legal representation and or advice. I am also posting this to have an SEO make it high on google searches so that people are aware of this companies trash reputation and methods of "repair."
