Questionable Business Practice

This company charged my credit card for an order of floor mats, gave me an estimated shipping date, then e-mailed me and called me and left messages asking for faxes or e-mailed images of a government ID (license or military ID) and an image of the credit card I'm using. Not a chance in Hades!

I called them to cancel the order and they tried to proceed with the conversation about why they do that - I didn't even entertain a conversation. I will not do business with a firm that charges my card first, then asks me for permission to do so to cover their own tails. Everyone else on line used secure sites for the Web-based ordering of their products and collects your credit card security number - and I've never had any issues with anyone else on-line (e.G., Amazon, EBay, many booksellers, etc.).
