My husband and I purchased a new 2002 F150 truck. When we purchased it we also purchased the 100,000-mile extended warranty.in October my husband was driving down the road and the motor locked up with NO warning the truck only had 32,000 miles on it. Which should have been covered under the factory warranty.*right*

We had the vehicle towed to our local dealer, Elkins Fordland, before they even looked at the vehicle they asked for all the receipts for the oil changes. We changed the oil our selves most of the time and we took in the receipts for the purchase of the oil and filter. They had the truck for 2 weeks and then told us that it would not be covered because there was sludge on the pistons, you don't get sludge on the pistons you get carbon, and there was no oil in the motor (but there was oil in the oil pan).

They then proceeded to call us liars and said that the receipts that we supplied were not sufficient enough. What more could they have wanted it had all the information that they asked for. But they would not tell us what actually caused the motor to lock up the way it did. We talked to several people at Ford Motor and at our local dealer and they said that the decision WOULD NOT BE OVER TURNED, and if we pay to have the motor pulled then they would see what caused the motor to lock up. If it were a mechanical problem then they would cover it under the warranty.

This should have been done under our warranty but they tried to charge us $5,500.00 parts & Labor to replace the motor and $500.00 to pull the motor. And still to this day they cannot tell us what happened to the motor.

We requested that the extended warranty be refunded to our loan and that has not happened either. We contacted our bank and he said that he remembers reading about problems with the 4.6L Triton motor in Ford Vehicles and helped us with a search. We found several items on this and similar problems but no one at Ford wanted to acknowledge any of these. They just kept blowing us off. The end result was that we sent the vehicle back with the motor still locked up.

You purchase a new vehicle and the extended warranty so you won't have to worry about it breaking down but Ford does not stand behind their products and the are not number one in customer satisfaction because they don't care about their customers! This was my 8th Ford vehicle I ever owned and I will never own another Ford vehicle again and I inform anyone who thinks about buying one not to also. They will screw you!!!
