Saab division air bag malfunction-drivers side bag exploded& injures & nearly 5 months later saab/gm is still giving me the run around

Cars & Transport

On July 2 my Saab was at my friends house. We were leaving to get coffee. We got into the vehicle (which has NEVER been in an accident) and before we both had our seat belts on the drivers side, side air bag exploded injuring the driver. I have been in touch with my insurance company and GM/SAAB corporate since Tuesday July, 5th 2011 and as of November 1st NO ONE has come forward to help me besides my insurance company who consequently denied the claim as they deemed it a "manufacturing defect". The car was NOT started and thank god we were not driving when this happened as people, besides those in the vehicle when the air bag exploded could have been severely injured or worse, killed due to a faulty SRS (supplemental restraint system)/Air Bag system. THANK GOD we were NOT driving as I can only imagine the out come had we been on the road when this occurred.

I NEED HELP as I have a great (or so I thought) vehicle, one of the safest cars (or so I thought) that I cannot LEGALLY operate because the air bag exploded and now NO air bags work and I cannot get the vehicle inspected nor can I drive it without the fear of another air bag exploding in my face! This original issue occurred when the car did NOT even have the key in the ignition. Help!!!
