Really frustrated - 2002 Mercury Mountanee

I have a 2002 Mercury Mountaineer and keep having issues with it. I think the transmission is actually the culprit and I SO can't afford to have another issue with it. The front differential was the first issue. From the research I've done, many many many others have the same problems. I'm a single mom of three, not support from their father. I really can't afford this issue. I love the car though and love Ford. It just seems like Ford would stand by their product but from the reviews, I see that they aren't. My vehicle only has 50,000 miles on it. Very low mileage for a transmission to be acting up!
