Pirelli tires marked M S

Last month i bought a ford Expedition EL from a Ford car dealer in Dammam Saudi Arabia
The tires installed in the car they marked P255/70R18 112 M S. When i looked in ford owner manual in the tires section, it said M S or M/S Mud and Snow AT: All Terrain AS: All Season
Also in the Tires specification plate which is installed on car door stated the tires shoold be AT type, So on the second day from buying the car i went back to the dealer and i showed them the book the plate onthe door but they keep telling me the tire company said the marking M S, AT and AS they all the same. Please can some one help. It is very hot and dry here and i do not think an M S tires type is safe in this area. The tires are made by Pirelli.
