Please change practice

I can’t believe the way some USPS employee handle their services. I am sure they have been advice to do so, and although most don’t, some do.

This has happened to me few times before, but never complained. But this is too much now. I understand if they prefer to sell you more expensive services, but when you are specific about what you want, and they arbitrary process your mail with higher price service is flat dishonest and wrong. It happened to me again today at Chino Hills Post Office in California (zip 91709). I walked to the counter, I was very specific about I just needed first class mail with delivery confirmation; she takes my envelopes and she processes and stamped them, and asked for $12.60 (processed as priority mail).
I had two envelopes, each 2.2 oz. First class mail for 3 oz large envelope is $1.22 and the delivery confirmation is $0.80. The cost of two envelopes should have been $4.04 and I paid $12.60. When I asked her I just asked for first class with delivery confirmation, she said I was not clear enough. I specifically asked her for first class mail with delivery confirmation, because the same has happened to me before at other post offices. What is not clear here? I didn’t want to make a scene; I just paid $12.60 and walked out. This particular post office is a great post office with excellent staffs. This never happened to me before this post office. The person who handled my envelopes was a Caucasian lady in early sixties. I never have seen her there before; maybe she was the manager and helping out because the Post office was really busy. I hope USPS stops this practice because it is dishonest. And I hope this lady if not disciplined but get a lecture by the local or District post master.
