Just Brakes
Ripoff, scam, bad brake jobs, con artists, scum bags!

Back in November I took my car to the Just Brakes shop up on Cave Creek Rd in Phoenix, AZ. My car was still under the extended warranty I purchsed and about half of $750 repair was covered; I paid the rest. I basically had the entire brake system on the front replaced; the back had minimal work done.

It's now 1 year and three months later, or 26,000 miles, and my car is now at the shop at 1345 W Broadway. Stan, the manager there, explained to me that EVERYTHING that had been done just over one year ago had to be done again! I was completely shocked when he told me I would have to pay $462.00 (after tax) for repairs! So here's where the shit gets deep.

Stan explained to me how this was all my fault because I didn't use my parking brake every time I parked my car. Yeah, I know it's a shovel full of crap! I have spoken with a Dodge (I drive a 2000 Dodge Neon) certified mechanic and he told me that setting the parking brake does NOTHING to "adjust" or re-align the rear brakes. The Neon is equiped with automatic adjusters! So, I askes Stan about this, and if my automatic adjusters were, in fact, working. "Oh yeah!" he says. But those don't work UNLESS YOU SET YOUR PARKING BRAKE. Whatever...

SO, here I am; stuck. I need my car but this company is completely trying to rape me. I called a local news channel (Call 12 for Action) and they are going to give me a helping hand. Stan indicated that the rear brake shoes showed NO wear and stated they hadn't been working because I wasn't using my parking brake. Yet he replaced them. I would think they would have atleast worked after I left the shop on Cave Creek Rd! But according to Stan, they didn't. So... The job was never done right from the get go. I am going to pay with my credit card, then immediately dispute the charges. I am giving copies of all my receipts and paperwork to Channel 12 and I am going to demand ALL of my money back; from this repair as well as the first. F* Just Brakes. You messed with the WRONG WOMAN this time!

Oh yeah, I almost forgot. I recorded my phone call with both the Dodge mechanic, as well as Stan. Stan is really going to look like the idiot here!
