Cars & Transport

Platinum Motors sold me a car that costs $10,000 to repair. They refused to deal with the issue so I took them to small claims court. They agreed in mediation that they would give me another car (without charging for sales tax, title and registration and I could pick out any car in the lot).

I got the second car, they put in writing that they were going to repair the sunroof since it did not operate properly as well as perform the "B" Service along with other minor repairs that the car needed like the tire pressure monitor was non-operational and motor and transmission mounts.

I dropped the car off to them and they gave me a loaner car. Once I got home, the loaner car did not start. They had me stranded for one day and promised to pick up the car the next day. I called them several times to make sure they would get the loaner car. They arrived late in the evening and dropped off another loaner car at my house.

Two weeks later, I pick my car. It has over 500 miles driven on it, and the repairs were not done. Roberto said he does not know why 500 was driven on my car and he could not do any of the repairs as promised. I was told to go home and contact the owner again and pay them $2,100.00 for the repairs to the motor and transmission mounts along with partial payment of taxes and title fees for the car.

I tried to contact the owner (Ed LaTorre) several times. His sister, Liz called me and said that she was there to help him and all I had to do was make an appointment and bring the car in.

I tried calling several times to bring the car in for an appointment, but was told by the "service manager" that I had to bring my receipts in so that he could charge me more money for other repairs that the car needed. I asked to speak to the owner again, but the owner has been avoiding my calls.

I then sent a demand letter telling Platinum Motors that if they did not perform the repairs as agreed in writing within 20 business days, that I would take them back to Court. I have not heard from them since.
