There is a reason Matt Couper operates as an LLC. He's a smooth talker, and as evidenced by comments by others on this site... Has answers for everything. He knows just how far to push you and then promises to make it right but never does. He over-billed me for thousands more than I was quoted and never finished the work because I had to take my car out of the shop before it was "too late." I pre-paid for parts, that I am pretty sure he sold to other customers and then told me they were 'back ordered.' When I eventually got the car and the special order part kit, there were still parts missing. He loves to show off his Obsidian and other special project cars, but the work he did on mine was catastrophically inferior! I could go on and on! I complained to the Bureau of Automotive repair and they validated my complaint. I have hundreds of pages of documents and logs. He won't respond to e-mails and refuses registered mail. I took him to court and won. He appealed and he lost again. The court awarded me $5,700 and he eventually started paying me 25 bucks every 2 weeks for a while and that stopped after he only paid about $325. He told me he was near bankrupt... Which makes sense based on how he does business, but he lies about everything (including while under oath in the courtroom.) He most definitely uses the LLC shield to the maximum of his ability. Please note: The physical address is no longer in El Cajon, he has moved to Lakeside.
