Cars & Transport

On 09/15, I found Premier Transmission Company on the Web Site. I called the Woodinville phone number listed on Premier Transmission Web Page and left a message. Bob from Premier Transmission called back. Bob explained to me about the free services listed in their web page with no obligation and gave me an estimate on the phone.

My car was towed on the 09/16 morning from another Auto repair shop. I received an email with an estimate for $1,500 as I was told on the phone. The next day afternoon, I called Bob asking for the shop address at Woodinville so I can go over there after work and also I requested all the old parts to be returned to me. Bob told me the car was towed to one of their shop in Seattle instead (they dont have a shop in Seattle) because a mechanic who is a specialist in Mercedes Benz located in the Seattle shop. The following Monday, before getting off work, I called the phone number listed under Seattle in the Premier Transmission Web Page. The phone was routed to the same number and the same person named Doug answered the phone. When I asked for their Seattle shop address, he hesitated and refused to tell me. Then he put me on hold and never got back to me. I called again and asked for Bob; Doug put me on hold again and did not get back to me. I called again, Doug told me to leave a message and someone will call me back. But I did not receive any phone call from Premier Transmission at all.

I was concerned where my car was towed to. A day later, I found out from the Better Business Bureau that they only have one location in WA State located in Kent and one other location in Portland OR. Then I realized I was scammed. On Sep 22nd, they sent me a second estimate for the $2,600 by email. I called and asked for the return of my car. They told me the transmission of my car has been removed for repair. I will have to pay for the labor and the towing plus other fees if I dont have the repair done. I insisted that I rather paid the fee to get my car back. Then they told me the transmission was shipped to Portland OR for repair.in other words, I cannot take my car. They promised the car will be ready in a couple of days. I was never told my car was towed to Kent, WA and my transmission was taken out and shipped to OR. A few days later, the car still was not ready. On Sep 25 Saturday, I went to the shop in Kent and looked for my car. I talked to a person name Jessie who works for Premier Transmission and he told me the car will be ready the following Monday.

On Monday, the car was not ready. I kept calling each day, but they kept telling me it will be ready the next day. It dragged on for another week. I was very concerned. On Monday, Sep 27th, I called and demanded to have my car back. One of the shop managers named Duey, called me back and told me the car will be ready no later than Saturday for sure and he is going to take $100 off the bill. After talking to a friend, I felt very uncomfortable. On Tuesday Sep 28th, I took a day off from work and went to their shop planning to take my car back. I sent them an email ahead of time demanding for my car back. I report to the Kent Police, and an officer was present as a witness. Before we arrived, they parked a car in front to block my car from being towed. They demanded full payment of $2,500 before I was allowed to take my car back with or without the transmission (the transmission was not in the car). The officer told me he cannot make them to release my car but he can be a witness to the situation. So I have no choice but to wait. They first quoted me $1500 and later asking for $1100 more. Both estimates were sent by email. My car was holding hostage unless I pay whatever they asked for. They first promised 3 to 5 days for the repair. My car ended up in their shop for 3 weeks. During those 3 weeks, I called everyday. They kept telling me they will call me once the car is ready. They kept promising me a date and kept postponing the date. I have no idea if my car really needed that much of a repair. Finally, I picked up my car on Oct 4 with a Kent Police officer present as a witness. I had asked for my old parts back ahead of time but was never returned on the day I picked up my car.

I took my car for a full inspection at the other shop on Oct 27. The report shows the transmission was not fixed. The transmission has leaks and the fluid level was too high. (See Attachment). They scam me by putting more fluid in the transmission to void the fluid to be dry out too quickly, so they can cover up the problem longer. Each time I called and I was put on hold or asked to leave a message. They did not get back to me.
