Theft

On Jan 28th we hired Southwest Movers to move us from the east side of phoenix to the west. They were 1 1/2 hrs late to begin with. We had 4 guys and 2 trucks. Right off the bat they broke the glass that is enlaid in my sofa table, because they did not know how to properly move funiture. They were very fast and clumsey. We reported the broken glass to the company that day. They said they would have someone out on monday to measure the table and take care of it. After many calls and NINE days later they finally sent someone out. It has been 7wks and we still do not have the glass, we get alot of run around. The next day after the move we discovered a box that was taped, (we taped all boxes and packed ourselfs) was cut open, all my husbands jewerly, wedding ring, watches, camera, gold coins, a 3ft. Tall bottle from Germany with around $300.00 in it ect. Were all missing. We made a police report, and tried to contact the owners. They were not ever available. I wrote them a letter and ask to be compensated for the theft, never heard back. Not even an apology. My husband finally talked with the owner and he said they would give our money back from the move. He said when he brings the glass for the table he will bring a check. That was 2 wks ago. Now he is not willing to pay us back, he is trying to say in the contract it said we were suppose to declare jewery and ect. Before the move, but we were never presented with the contract till the move was done, and time to pay. At that time we didn't know the jewerly was missing. They said we should have checked the trucks to make sure all our stuff was off the truck. Really? They are fully responsible for our loss and we should be compensated. Any respectable company would see to it.
