Auto Doctor - Hatboro
Wanted to charge me over $900.00 for work that I did not need

I took my car in for inspection and was told that I needed exhaust work done including converter, pipes, sensor. He said I also needed reverse lights but they would have to 'investigate" to see if there was a problem that caused the lights to burn out. (good one right?)

THEN, he said I needed a replacement windshield wiper arm because mine was bent like a 'pretzel.'
I asked if I needed the wiper arm to be not bent for passing inspection? He didn't answer. I told him my wipers worked fine and I wasn't aware of any laws stating the arm had to be perfectly straight - only they needed to work.
He said "Ok, wait let me ask the mechanic if he could straighten it out." He comes back 10 minutes later and tells me the mechanic thinks he can straighten it out. Yea, that would have been an extra 60.00 added to my 900.00 plus total..

He then sat on the phone for 10 minutes presumably talking to someone about prices for all the parts he said I needed.
He hung up and told me it needed 'some work" and it would cost about 900.00.
I told him that wasn't going to happen because I didn't have 900.00.

I left and decided to get a second opinion. (took it to Keeble Auto in Warminster. Highly recommend)

After Keeble checked my car for inspection, I was ready to just hand the guy 200.00 to fix it hoping he would after thinking I needed so much work.
He comes out and asks me what the previous station said I needed. I told him and he said that there is a little rattling from a part. I asked him if he could work on it today and he said, "there's nothing to work on."
Auto Doctor tried telling me the rattling was what I was hearing because of the work I needed. I guess they heard a rattle and thought good back up to convince me I needed the work.

Keeble said I needed nothing that Auto Doctor said I did. And he even bent my wiper arm back without even mentioning it.
I didn't need a front end pipe converter, a sensor, or investigative reverse light work... Geeze...

When I left Auto Doctor I asked him for an estimate to take with me. He wrote me up a slip with very vague parts names no price estimate.

I called him when I got home from my real inspection and asked why he wanted to rip me off. He hung up on me.

BEWARE OF AUTO DOCTOR -
I wish I read these reports before I went there.
