A ripoff of 962.00 for a gastank issue that was covered under the warranty

I took my 2008 Chrysler Sebring Convertible which was under the new vehicle warranty. The car had 34,750 miles on it and has a 36,000 mile full warranty, when I could not put gas in it. The pumps would shut off immediately and some even spilled out onto the pavement.

I was told byOxendale that someone tried to siphon gas out of it and it needed a new fill tube, gas tank and anti siphon valve. Knowing that the car had been under our watchful eye and never parked anywhere that this could have happened (it is locked in our garage at night). I asked if it was covered under the warranty and was told no because the parts were damaged. They wanted 962 dollars to fix it. My husband and I came and got the car and took it to another dealership (York Chrysler in Prescott AZ) fifty miles away. We barely had enough gas to get it there but when we did, we were told the filled tubes do develop problems over time and that the entire issue WAS covered under the warranty, they fixed it at no cost to us.

Also the paper work we received from Oxendaledescribed the damage as "Parts damaged warrenable". I think they were going to charge us and Chrysler for the repairs. This, of course, is only in our opinion.
