Multiple issues: We purchased a "Certified" used Mercury Mountaineer (50k miles) from Sunrise Ford in March. They told us it's a "Certified" vehicle and they indicated it has this great inspection and everything has to be up to Ford standards. The lumbar support was broken, but they said no problem, we could make an appointment to get it fixed. Upon purchasing, the finance person tried to sell us an extended warranty. We declined and he kept up the pressure indicating that with the warranty during the next 4 years, all we would have to pay for is tires. They even lowered the price to $1200. I said OK. We had the car a little over a month & decided to get the seat fixed. They wanted to charge us stating the warranty doesn't cover anything electrical. I filed a BBB report & called Ford Motor Company who told us it was not a Ford Certified vehicle. The dealer indicated it was a Sunrise Certified vehicle. After haggling they agreed to no charge if we drop the BBB complaint. Part II. We drove the vehicle 5500 miles in 5 months; the oil change light comes on. We schedule the service, along with the wiper blade replacement (they are shredded and were barely ever used in 5 months). They indicate the warranty doesn't cover the blade replacement ($29.95) and that it also needed a brake job. We had to pay for the brake job ($304 total) and they said the warranty only covers oil changes and tire rotation. The warranty was misrepresented from the get go, the vehicle was deceptively misrepresented as a Ford Certified. This dealer is horrible and very deceptive. 5500 miles include a broken lumbar support (its broken again) the brakes were the original and the warranty is nothing close to what was represented.
