Ugly Duckling AKA Drive Time ripoff! I know the inside and outside of this dirty company

My fiance used to work Ugly Duckling and was there when it turned to Drive Time. They are very crooked and scammy company. I remember so many nights him comming home with tons of stories on how he sold a car to someone with this wrong and that wrong.

We moved to Florida from Chicago, and he was in desprite need of work... As we had one daughter and I was pregnant with our 2nd child. He was driving down Hillbrorough and saw a big "NOW HIRING" sign. He went in filled out an application and was hired right when he walked in. He had no car selling experience WHAT SO EVER! Little did he know he was going to be forced to scam people or lose the food that he was putting on the table.

He was one of the top selling car salesman of his store. He was very happy for that, but not happy for the customer. They used to call the cars they sold, "Timebombs". The staff would laugh as the customer would drive away in the "BOMB" that they just bought. He left work knowing he would be getting a really good paycheck, but the customer would be giving up their whole paycheck for a piece of crap.

There were so many times I would get in the cars they had on their lot and ask my fiance, "Now what is wrong with this car?!" He would actually tell me everything that was wrong with the cars, but were not allowed to tell the customer that. Their have been cars that have blown up on customers, cars that wouldn't start the day after they were driven off the lot. The cars were just crap.

Every customer that my fiance delt with seemed so happy to finally be in a car. They would leave him letters before they left that he would hang on the wall of his office next to the picture of them and their new "timebomb". Even though their interest rates would be higher at Drive Time they just didn't have credit to buy anywhere else. The customers were happy when they left, but sure enough they were the first ones calling when the store opened the next morning.

He told me how they would change the titles on the trade ins to make more money off them. Ugly Duckling/Drive Time should not be allowed to sell cars. They sell cars that are not driveable. They promise to help people with bad credit fix their credit, but really all they do is hurt peple's credit worse.

My fiance couldn't take anymore of the crooked work he was forced to do. We are now living back in Chicago, and he is working for a legit car dealer that ALWAYS puts the customer first.

Even if you have crappy credit and think that you will never be able to by a car anywhere else... LOOK AROUND before you think about putting your money in the hands of DRIVE TIME!!!
