Ugly Duckling - Drive Time
Ugly duckling/drive time ripoff, horrible customer service, the list goes on

I bought a 1992 Mercury Sable from Ugly Duckling because I had a repo on my credit which was not supposed to be there. On my way home from the dealership the CHECK ENGINE light came on and that is where the problems started.

I am a single mom who is already struggling to make ends meet and all I wanted was transportaton to get me to adn from work everyday. To make a long story short I put more money into the repairs on the car than the car was even worth.

I finally was able to get the repo off my credit that was not supposed to be there. So I took the car that I bought from Ugly Duckling up to the Mitsubishi in our area to trade it in for a new car since I had finally gotten my credit cleared up.

Ugly Duckling did not want to work with or even speak to anyone at the Mitsubishi Dealership. The salesman at Mitsubishi thought that this was the wierdest thing for them to not want me to trade in their car.

So needless to say, I purchased a car without trading in the Ugly Duckling car and voluntarily repoed the UD car. They sent me a letter stating that they sold my car at an auction for only $50.00 so I was responsible for the remaining balance.

I ignored the letter and the phone calls started at my job. For a while they were calling me everyday telling me I needed to pay them or they were going to take me to court for it. I at first asked them to quit calling me and then when that didn't work I yelled at them and said they had better quit calling me.

After a few weeks of that they stopped calling and now I have another repo on my credit. I would recommend that anyone and everyone stay far away from Ugly Duckling/Drive Time... They are clearly rip-offs.
