Chad Holmes Car Value Estimate - Unfair Practices

Cars & Transport

We were a victim of an accident. Farmers determined that their client was at fault. We still do not have a like kind vehicle and payment for the medical charges to the hospital. The hospital is holding me responsible for the amount due!

We are now without a vehicle and are no longer offered a rental. I have sent comparable vehicles in our area to show Farmers that the price is much higher than what they were offering. Their payment amount is not enough to purchase a comparable vehicle or repair it. The vehicles that Farmers offers on their report are located in California and It is not viable to drive hundreds of miles to check out a vehicle. They found 1 or 2 vehicles that were lower in price but with multiple car fax issues on one and the other was not an actual listing.

We sent our vehicle to a shop recommended by Farmers. Our vehicle's mileage entering the shop was recorded at 92,624. This is the mileage I recorded when the vehicle arrived to their body shop. Their initial comparable valuation reflected this. Their 2nd valuation lists the mileage at 92,723? Where a hundred miles come from and who tampered with the vehicle?

CCC One is the company that Farmers is using to do the evaluation report.ccC One's report is grossly lopsided to Farmers' favor.ccC One has a record of providing bad faith estimates and so is the ones they provided thus far.ccC one's evaluation report is not a good faith estimate of our vehicle's cash value. On CCC One's evaluation, adjustments to our favor are extremely low and/or missing; moreover, adjustments not to our favor are extremely inflated. Some examples are we have dealer ready tires. On page 3 of the CCC One report they gave us $5 credit for the dealer ready tires and -$122 for some soiling on a seat (which can be cleaned with basic cleaners). Where can you buy almost new tires for $5 and how does a soil that can be washed with a $5 cleaner end up with a -$122 impact?
Another example on page 11 is mileage adjustments. One of their comparable has 107,945 miles and they gave us a 314. Another vehicle on same page has 87,705 and they gave us a -167. The 314 is for a vehicle that has about 15,000 miles more and the -167 is for a vehicle that has about 5,000 miles less. Can you see the lopsided, unjustified valuation? When I brought this to our Farmers adjuster, Chad Holmes' supervisor, she directed me to CCC One for the details.ccC One will not provide me any detail on how they came up with these numbers and said it is proprietary information. Their formula is consisted of false balances.
On page 9 and 11 they do not give us credit for any of our vehicle options.

I will also forward the emails I sent to Farmers concerning this with our request.
E-mail sent on 7/12/10 has attached the comparable vehicle listings that I emailed and emailed sent on 7/21/10 was our response to their 2nd offer.
E-mail received from Chad on 7/20/10 has Chads 2nd offer and comparable report attached.
Attached to this email is the email sent to Chad on 8/3/10 requesting Farmers to respond to NDIU complaint with complaint attached.
