Ford Triton Engine - tune up

Cars & Transport

I purchased a 2001 ford Lariat with 5.4 Triton engine with a an engine that has 38,000 miles and have nothing but problems. Now I need to have a tune up and foundout that each plug has it's own coil which is the craziest thing I ever heard of. I've got a miss in cylinder 4 and 7 according to the computer and it's impossible to get to them without taking the engine apart. Come on Ford step up like Toyota did and as far as I'm concerned this is the worst motor Ford ever came out with. I'm so disappointed I don't think I'd ever own another Ford. I'm not one to complain but this is rediculous. Mechanic said could cost anywahere from 300 bucks to alomost 2000 bucks depending on the coils and what they find when in there... Boy heard that before. I like many others are just about broke barely keeping our heads above water with this economy so we try and be fugal and get a vehicle that's american and depednable and then now what I thought was a depedneable truck has a motor that cost a fortune to repair on what should be a simple tune up. Wtf!!!
