When reviewing my car insurance Belairdirect decided to cancel my car insurance because I go and pickup mail for my business from a local P.O. Box., carrying a laptop or computer was considered a tool of my profession and they flagged the vehicle as "COMMERCIAL" even though it's used for business. The letter I got from them said they cannot renew me for the following reason:
"Vehicles used for other than personal use, including but not limited to: vehicles rented or leased to other and business use where the main purpose is a fast response time e.G. Fast food delivery and emergency response vehicles."
So basically if youre an artist or musician you cannot have a paintbrush or guitar in your car because it's considered a tool of your profession and it you will be flagged as "COMMERCIAL" and your policy will be cancelled. The same can happen to you house insurance as it did for me. They cancelled it as well because of commercial exposure. Never going back with Belairdirect again because the agents they hire cannot speak or understand English and you as a customer pay for their mistakes.
