Ripoff on auto financing, jacked up selling price to qualify

It all started at the Ford dealer in Lake Havasu, Arizona. I selected a car (2000 Chrysler 300 M) and the manager worked the numbers by adding it up well over 27,000. Don't worry about financing they said, just sign the paper with the payments at 356.00 a month like you want.

Well what a surprise to receive a phone call stating that the paperwork needs to be resigned with a different finance company "Americredit" (Above and beyond ripoff division). The payment had been dramatically changed to 580.00 a month (ouch). After paying for well over 18 months, the inevitable happened, I lost my job. I contacted Americredit after scrambling to pay them for 4 more months and then I took it to a sister dealer in my area and voluntarily gave it up.

Americredit sold the car for 10,000 at an action, charged me over 1,000 in fees (including a repo fee) and said I still owe them 14,000 dollars. Now I wish that I could find a car like it for 10,000, not going to happen. They continue to call and harrass me, even though I did pay them 300.00 dollars last month.
What would you do? Next time, if there is a next time - They are getting the car back first.
