Claimed wife needed new tramsmission

Last month my wife took her car to Evans Automotive while in Columbus. After several times of the car not driving right, she pulled into Evans for them to have a look. A mechanic (did not get his name) looked at the car. My wife explained what the car was doing. After about 15 min under the hood and checking the oil and trans fluid the mechanic told my wife basically she needed a new transmission for about $2200. My wife called me upset and I told her to get a second opinion someplace else. She did - the only problem with the car was it needed transmission fluid. I think either the mechanic is a total idiot or Evans Auto is trying to take advantage of a naive female. Either way, dont take your car there! Thank you for this website!
