Hello All Fellow Dealers:
My advice to you when considering an automotive sticker company, or website company, leads generator, text leads generator, inventory distribution, or other is to look in a place other than Dealer Specialties.
For those of you who have had their service and experienced the lies and poor support, you know what this post is going to contain. For those of you who haven't, use this as a starter; Dealer Specialties claims to be nationwide and have "nearly 10,000 dealerships" see this quote from their OWN website - "Today, Dealer Specialties has more than 800 representatives in 48 states, nearly 10,000 dealership customers, and over 700,000 vehicles with window stickers produced monthly."
That's one of many lies their representatives will tell you when trying to sell you. The actual number of dealerships they service is closer to 3500 and decreasing every month. This is due to the fact they can't service what they sell. Craigslist? Doesn't work. You cannot post your vehicles to Craigslist using their service. They will be flagged as duplicates.
They tell you they will service your dealership twice per week? That's a lie. They no longer will do so - their photo shooters are spread out too thinly and cannot get to each dealer more than once per week. Take my word for it - they only visited me once every week once I was up and running.
Here's a good one - their "come back to us" campaign. They claim they will shoot your inventory for free or offer you the first two months free from data charges. But then you receive your first month's bill (as I did) and lo and behold, all charges are on it. No credits.
Need a website? They will tell you they offer included websites, that they aren't cookie cutter sites. But what they don't tell you is the website won't be as the salesman told you it would be. Go ahead and fall for that one. I sure did.
Consider all these before you sign with Dealer Specialties as I did. I should have taken a closer look at some of the other options before I signed. I should have known if it sounds too good to be true, it is. Hey - these guys are desperate. I found out how few dealers they have left, and understandably so. They are pathetic whiners who make themselves out to be so much better than the next guy.
They are not. Their servers go down constantly, your car feeds don't go out, and your website looks like everyone elses without any updating. Save your self a dime and shop hard before you make the same mistake I did.
I don't know who the jokers are who lead this operation, but if I were them, I'd hire better people, and start treating their customers in a manner befitting the era we are in now.in case you forgot, the customer is still king. We can decide to go elsewhere. I did, and am very happy I got rid of the headache called "Dealer Specialties".
