Gmac 4 years after chevy purchase, gmac claims i was on buyback"smartlease" even though i have title, refuses to furnish proof

In 6, I PURCHASED a 2006 Chevrolet Equinox from Major Chevrolet, Long Island City, NY. I made it ABUNDANTLY AND CONSISTENTLY CLEAR that I intended to PURCHASE the vehicle. I had NO INTENTIONS WHATSOEVER of leasing or in any other way obtaining this vehicle unless It was to be OWNED by me. Within two weeks of contract and receipt a Title arrived for the vehicle. LEASED vehicles to not come with TITLES to Lease Holders. Titles denote o w n e r s h i p. We made monthly payments as agreed to in full and on time each month since June.

In April I reeived a letter from GMAC informing me that I would have to come up with $13,000, $. 20 per mile for all mileage in excess of 48,000 miles, and Wear & Tear costs&and if I wanted to OWN the vehicle, I could simply pay the $13,000 by May 3&or RETURN THE VEHICLE. SHOCKED and SICKENED by what surely must be a mistake, GMAC refused to discuss the matter until pushed, and then informed me that I had signed something called a "SmartLease" which set forth the terms stated above.

I had and have NO RECORD of any document, and I asked for copies of this allegedly signed"SmartLease".

None were forthcoming.

I requested them by mail.

None were forthcoming.

I requested them by telephone to the Dealership.

None were forthcoming.

I requested them by email.

None were forthcoming.

Obviously, no such "SmartLease" was signed or exists, and I also understand that this program no longer exists.

We are in deep, deep, deep trouble, I am already partially disabled, and am underemployed. This matter, no matter how it ends up, will likely send us over the financial cliff.

Be very very careful of any and all dealings with gmac.
