Brewer Mitsubushi Jeep
Sold me a car with lemon -Manufacturer buyback title without disclosing! Beware -Don't buy 2006 Jeep Commander from them

Cars & Transport

I test drove a 2006 Jeep Commander in Fall of 2009. The service light was on and I asked why. They said because it had just come from service and they somehow turned the light off. That should have been my first red flag. I then asked about the navigation system. They said the dvd was in the back area of the dealership and would be included. Then I asked about the manuals. They said they had those too.
I was stupid enough not to do the carfax, but even if I had. It wouldn't have said lemon. It only showed purchased at Dallas Auction by Brewer - so I can't feel too bad or stupid.
I purchased the car. They did not have the dvd. They would have to order it. Well, I ordered one myself because they were taking too long. I then found out after putting the dvd... The nav didn't work! No wonder they didn't have the dvd in it! Then they would never get my manuals... So I ordered my own!
Then the hard news came when I went to my local court house to get my registration and tags a few weeks later. I live in Texas and the car was sold in Clovis... So I had to go pick them up locally. I went down there and my title had lemon on it! There was a hold on registration and Texas wouldn't do it! I called Brewer and told them. Their response... Was "oh, how did you find out?" Not, like they were surprised about the news of a lemon... Surprised that I found out! Then they even told me that the lemon status was because of the service engine light!!! It would have never been disclosed if they had sold it in New Mexico... Come to find out... Once the car left the Dallas Auction... New mexico doesn't track it. So if the dealership had sold it to somebody in NM, the consumer would never know!!! I demanded my money back. They agreed. I am afraid they sold it to somebody in NM and they don't know it! I have now told the attorney general about it. And they are checking into it.
What made it worse is they had already sold my trade! So now I was stuck buying something or lose my trade value in sales tax!!! I was stupid enough to buy from them to save the 2000.00 in sales tax. Ok, so they agreed to buy me a denali at dallas auction and give it to me for 300 over auction price... Just to make me happy. Well, they didn't know I have a friend that can look at the auction results. It sold for 34,700. They came back and I bought it for 36,000! What an idiot I was to keep on buying from them... But they told me I needed to buy it since they had gone to auction and got it for me. I was mad, but did it.
Watch out people! They lied about the whole deal on the commander and then lied about how much they paid for the denali at auction. They also told me they would certify the denali, but when it got here, they told me I was going to have to pay 800.00 out of my pocket to do so! No warranty was given as promised. I do have to say that I think finance guy was the only honest guy in the place... And was just doing what he was told. But maybe I am being naive on that too!
You better have everything in writing at this place... And watch out for a lemon title! They will NOT tell you about it.
