Cars & Transport

I am entering this report about 10 months late but I am sure that it has happend to several customers. Me and my wife went in to look at SUV's and found a 2000 Nissan Xterra that was real nice and had good miles. The first thing we should have caught is when the saleman let us take it home for the night. We told him our situation and agreed to help us out.

Came back the next day did all necessary paperwork and credit checks and was told told it would be a while to find out anything. This whole time he still let us drive the SUV around and my wife had her heart set on it. We put a thousand down and then a day later signed all the papers and knew what our payments were going to be.

Our second sign we should have noticed is that not only was one bank calling to verify employment there were several banks calling our works after we had signed the papers. After a few days my wife called the salesman and asked if anything was wrong and he said nothing was wrong and that everything was fine and kept saying "no problem" over and over again. Then we get the call about a week and a half later and said that the bank will need another 1500 dollars down and if we could not get the money then we would have to give the Xterra back.

Remember this whole time the salesman kept saying "no problem" and me and my wife are thinking this is too good to be true on how we got in the car so easy and got the payment we wanted.in the meantime the car was making a rattling noise underneath and of course being a used car you do not get a warranty unless you buy an extended warranty which sometimes a ripoff themselves.

We went to the dealership and told the sales manager that we signed all the papers and even knew our payment and he kept saying that we needed to give another $1500 down and all he can say is "I'am sorry but sometimes that happens but you need to give the car back or pay. So we had to give the car and fortunatley they did not cash out $1000 check but our credit score was ruined by all the credit checks that performed. We checked our credit and in a 1 week span our credit had been checked 21 times and we received denial letters because of excessive inquires that came from Quality nissan themselves trying to find financing when we thought we had financing with Bank One

We eventually went to another dealer a few months later to let some inquires phase out and we have perfect credit on the accounts we have open but the the inquires killed our score. We knew that we would have some difiiculty getting the loan because of all the account we had open on our credit but telling us that everything went through and there was "no problems" then saying we need more money after we signed papers stating our payments and interest rate is just bad business. Come to find out that many people in Amarillo and surround cities were ripped off by AutoNation Dealers. I will never do business with any AutoNation Dealer because they are all taught the same tactics and are untruthful. But they will never go out of business because they are so huge. Maybe if enough complaints get out there then they can be stopped.
