Premium Gasoline suspect

I purchased premium gasoline at the BP Amoco gas station in Lisle, IL. At RT 53 and Warrenville Road. The entire tank of gas made my car (which is a finely tuned Honda Accord) ping - knock - and, hardly start. I knew something was up. They charged me for premium - but, I would bet money it wasn't. I switched to another gas - and, everything went back to normal.
