2007 4runner brake

I've 2007 Toyota 4runner. Last 3 months i went about the raining moist night. I went really sluggish towards the freeway entrance. When i change towards the entry super wear the road. I attempt to quit before i turn. But i, michael too late and struck the highway entry timber indication part road. Now I've to pay for my insurance for collusion. Any one understand it had been my problem or my brake???
