Cars & Transport

I bought a 2002 Hyundai Sonata in March. From the beginning I have had problems, recalls, oxygen censors. But in May my transmission went.

They put a new transmission in my car in May and the car only had 15,900 miles.

Then in July my transmission started leaking and slipping. I was told that I needed another transmission.

I took the car to the dealer while on vacation in August so that they could install the 2nd transmission.

When I returned they told me that the 2nd transmission that came off the truck was also bad and that my car was not ready due to them needing a 3rd transmission.

They installed the 3rd transmission in the middle of August. Here it is the first week in September and I have had another mishap with the car.

I was turning a sharp bend and when I rounded the bend I hit the gas and the car wouldn't accelerate. Before I realized that the transmission was slipping (again) it kicked into gear so hard that it threw my head back against the seat.

The noise it made was awful and I thought the transmission would just drop out of the car the noise was so loud.

This was very unsetteling. I have a neck problem to begin with. Do I have to worry about this every time I get into my car?

Officially this is the 4th transmission if you count the original one. I think something needs to be done.

The dealer told me that brand new Hyundai's (including the SUV) are coming off the truck with bad transmissions.

I have contacted the BBB but I don't think I will see any results from them. The lady that I talked to was extremely rude. And I also beleive that the OHIO BBB is working for the manufacturer and not the consumer.

I am afraid to drive my car. The reason for purchasing a NEW vehicle is so that you don't have to worry about the reliability of the vehicle. THAT WAS NOT THE CASE WITH THIS CAR!

If anyone has any feedback or knows what I can do to get rid of this car please email me through the rebuttal key.
