Money hungry scam artists

Team One Auto Group is a relatively new repair shop in the Dilllsburg, Pennsylvania area. They are known in the area for their steal of a deal state inspection and emmisions. They charge 18.95 for an inspection.
While this is a good deal, it will cost you more in the long run. A friend of mine took her car in for inspection late last year. Her car ran beautifully before the inspection. Her car passed and I took her back to get her car. They told her she needed a tire balancing. (She had her tires balanced a few weeks before) She noticed a slight rumble in her front wheels. (She also got a tire rotation with her inspection) We thought maybe this was some honest mistake. Wrong.
We later came to find out that when they rotated the tires, they removed one of her wheel bearings and did not replace it. A missing wheel bearing can overtime cause a tire to litterally fall of a car while its moving. I know, based on other horror stories, that this was not an acciddent but done so that she would come back for diagnostics, repairs, and spend more money.
Another friend of mine was having problems when his car was turning off while he was driving. He took it to the closest garage, Team One. They diagnosed the problem as a faulty fuel pump. Also, they wanted 80 dollars for a fuel injection cleaning. (Which can be done by the average joe with a bottle of isoheet for 5 dollars from walmart) Not being very car savvy, he paid 800 dollars for the work. This was after he talked them down from 1,200, yes 1,200.
So I consulted an honest mechanic friend of mine and he told me that at his shop the same fuel pump would run 300. My mechanic friend later looked at this car and ran a diagnostic check. One code came up, for a 50 dollar mass airflow sensor.
Needless to say, he didn't need a fuel pump at all. So one, they overcharged him 300 dollars for a part his car didn't need. Two, they left the real problem knowingly unfixed.
All and all, Team One Auto Group is a complete and utter rip off. They lure you in with an 18.95 inspection and do more damage than good. If you or anyone you know has any once of respect for themselves or their wallets, stay far away and spread the word.
