I am completely disgusted with the service I received at Red Simon Ford. I feel not only ripped off, but misquoted & lied to & I believe they replaced a part that didn't even need to be replaced!
I took my Ford Explorer in for service because I found radiator fluid under my truck. Apparently when I had my radiator flushed at a different business, it caused a radiator leaking problem. When Red Simon Ford called me with the quote, they originally quoted me under $100 to replace the hoses. They later called again to tell me they found I needed a new Thermostat and that the total was going to be about $300 but they could still have it ready by the end of the day.
I went to pick up my truck after work and paid $385 for the total repairs. The department was closing and no one was available to explain the charges to me, so I paid it reluctantly as I had no way of getting a rental car that late much less any means of speaking to Bobby or Felipe to resolve the problem because they had already left for the evening.
The bill was clear as mud, At the top of it said "Replaced upper and lower coolant hoses and thermostat, " and then listed the main charge as "Hardware - Miscellaneous" for $220 along with several other charges for parts.
I went back the next day not only because of the charges but also because my truck was now really having problems! The check engine light was on & it was sluggish! They told me to leave it there & they would make whatever adjustment that was needed. I called a couple of times that day but no one would talk with me about my truck, they just said they would leave them the message that I called and have them call me back. I was told much later when they finally returned my call that it would not be ready until the next day due to a sensor problem.
The next day I went to the service department & demanded to speak to the technician that was working on my vehicle because I saw my vehicle sitting and it looked un-touched still. The technician told me that they were waiting for the CORRECT Thermostat part to come in and that they had originally put the WRONG YEAR MODEL THERMOSTAT in my truck when they replaced it! He said that since the thermostat is the wrong year model, it doesn't fit in the original thermostat housing and so they were waiting for the housing part they had to order. I asked how this couldn't have been noticed before & how they could return my truck to me even though it wasn't fixed properly with all the correct parts & he just told me to speak with the service manager - who was out, of course.
Three Days after I had brought it back in they told me to come pick up my truck and that it was finally ready. I received another bill for the Thermostat Housing, Sensors and some more parts and labor which totalled $73! They didn't adjust ANY charges on either of the two bills or even cover my rental car expenses for THEIR MISTAKE!
I cannot believe the incompetency of putting the wrong year model part in a vehicle to begin with, but what's worse, is being dishonest & sending the vehicle out as if its completed when it was not! Plus then having the inconvenience & the charges for transportation while they were holding my vehicle until the part came in is unbelievable, especially when they caused the issue!
I really don't even believe my truck needed a Thermostat to begin with! I bet it only needed a couple of hoses/clamps! This place is a total RIP-OFF! Don't trust these incompetent liars!!
