Car Engine Rebuild Remanufacture Disappeared Didn't Ship Took My Money

I found this company online selling remanufactured engines. Their website was well done, and they seemed to know what they were talking about. I couldn't find anything negative about them online and went ahead and called them about placing an order.in retrospect, I should have been tipped off by the fact that, when I didn't order right away, they called me the next day to see if I was ready to order.

Their site states that they usually ship in 1-10 days. I asked how long it would take to ship my engine and was told 10-14 days. Not a big deal really, so I placed my order over the phone using a credit card.

After a few weeks I hadn't heard if it had shipped or not, so I decided to call them. When looking for the website, I realized that it was no longer up. I called them and got a message telling me their mailbox was full, never a good sign. I then started running more google searches and came across a complaint.

It seems I have been taken for over $2300 and will now have to work with my credit card company to see if I have insurance on this purchase.

I guess the rule of thumb is, if there's not negative info on a company online, that doesn't mean their trustworthy. Try to stick with companies that do have reviews online.
