Thrifty Car Sales
Sold a truck and made promises they didn't keep

Cars & Transport

My grandpa purchased me a 1995 truck from Thrifty car sales. They wrote up the deal with a man named Adam (the owner). My father was saying the truck had a leak Adam said their was no leak, so my grandpa asked then to steam clean the engine just to make sure. My grandpa paid in full for the truck and I was told to bring it back for all the work, they were fixing the head liner and cleaning the engine.

Adam gave me his card with his cell phone number and said if I had any problems to call him if I wasn't happy with the truck he would take it back. He said the truck would run fine with no engine or transmission problem for at least another 100,000 miles. I didn't want to buy a truck with problems since I had a car with a blown head gasket and that's what I told Adam. He said all the cars were certified and he would fix anything I found wrong and would give me a loner car since I had a new baby and on my own.

When I took in the truck for the headliner I let Vincent know that the door locks were broken he said no problem will fix it. I left the truck they gave me a Honda the car was horrible it hopped, the check engine light was on and the inside was a mess with like syrup all over the inside I had to put a towel down for me to even be able to sit in it. When I drove my daughter was so scared she cried. My dad went to Thrifty with me and told them they had to give me another car this one was not safe.

So they did, after I got the Truck home I noticed they didn't fix the leak or the door lock. So I did a car fax I found the truck had 3 open recalls. So I then took it to the dealer for them to fix, they had the truck 2 days. I called and let Paul (another manager) know and they didn't seem to care, that they sold me an unsafe truck. Said once again bring it in and we will fix it. I also got a letter in the mail saying they didn't do an inspection on the truck.

So I took the truck in for 2 days, didn't get a car to use while they had mine and nothing fixed, they just did the inspection. After calling and trying to set up a time for them to fix the door locks, the headliner that was done very poorly and the engine leak that the dealer also confirmed the truck had along with black transmission and radiator coolant. Thrifty and Adam wouldn't return my calls.

Adam then returns a call and says bring the truck in and they will fix all the problems so we don't waste anymore time and personally guaranteed the work would be done this time. We take it and they had it for 2 more days and now my tags are expired and no more work done. They did give me a loner car. I go to pick it up for the 3rd time and they give me the keys like nothing.

I tell them the tags are no good and they didn't want to do anything, my father gets them to give me another temporary plate and they acted like they were doing me a big favor when we paid for tags we haven't got because they didn't do their job. I want everyone to know this is not a place of good customer service they don't keep their word and they sure don't do their job. To this day they don't answer their calls and no work has been done.
