Triangle Cycles
Inflated MSRP

Cars & Transport

I stopped in to find out some info on a motorcycle I wanted to buy and found that Triangle Cycles had the new 2009 Yamaha, V-Star, 950cc, touring edition on the showroom floor. I asked the salesman to give me the best "out the door" price on the bike and he said he would have to talk with the sales manager but he guaranteed they would give me a good deal. Twenty minutes later he handed me his business card and wrote down the figures. He said the bike had a MSRP of $10,000 but they would take off the taxes, registration, etc. And give me the bike for $9,500 out the door. Well the list price on that bike, which is also listed on their website, is $8,990.00.in other words they inflated the list price by about a $1,000 and then took off $500 to make it look like they were paying all the costs when in reality that $9,500 quoted was the MSRP plus more because the cost of taxes, etc., only comes to about $350.00.

I went to another dealer only 25 more miles away and bought the same bike for $8,500, out the door, and they included two helmits and a voucher for two service calls, for the first 600 mile service and then the 1,000 service. Don't go to this place without doing your homework, or at least checking their website, they will rip you off in a heartbeat.
