I stated the exact problem with my car. They told me they fixed it. They lied

Cars & Transport

My Toyota Corolla was having some electrical problems. The rear tail lights and driver-side headlight (including the high beam) were not operating correctly, if at all. I placed a phone call to Spitzer Toyota and made an appointment to have them look at the car.

After the first appointment they replaced a fuse. I was told by the representative that the new fuse would illuminate my headlight to a half charge and would be okay until I brought the car in two days later (which was when the parts would arrive to fix the rear tail lights).

Two days later, I brought the car back in. After two hours they had the car ready to go. The same representative handed me the invoice and specifically said to me that the headlight should be fully lit now. I thanked him, paid, and left.

Also, while I was waiting in the lounge, several other customers were annoyed at the lack of communication between the representatives and the car owners. I witnessed three seperate interactions, during all of which the representatives were very rude.

When I left for work the next morning, I flipped on my headlights to pull out of the driveway since the sun hadn't come up yet. Surprise, surprise... The driver-side headlight was still at a half charge and the high beam wasn't working either.

When I had a break at work that day I called to inquire about why the headlight wasn't working properly. The same representative that told me it had been fixed got on the phone, told me he had never stated anything about the headlight, and blamed the mechanic. He put the mechanic on the phone, a guy I have known for over ten years and trust. He told me that the representative had never mentioned the headlight to him either. I asked to be put back on the phone with the representative.

The representative again stated that he had never mentioned the headlight, and when I recounted him handing me the invoice the day before and specifying that the headlight would be fully lit he said he didn't recall saying that.

I asked him what I was supposed to do about a headlight that doesn't work properly even though I brought it in twice that week in order to be fixed, and I was told that it had been. He told me to bring it in again for another inspection. An inspection I would be charged for.

I told him I was taking my business elsewhere and hung up.

Understand that the mechanic is a man I trust completely. This representative was the problem. DO NOT trust the Spitzer representatives. Verify work done there before you leave.
