Bob Smith BMW
In Calabasas defective parts installed

Cars & Transport

In case anyone reading this has the need for a body shop I would HIGHLY recommend

Well, I recently purchased both front headlight assemblies from Bob Smith BMW in Calabasas for my Z3 Coupe which is repainting/upgrading for me. The lights were installed by James, one of the top mechanics at Bob Smith. Since I am repainting my car a different color from the original color, it requires dismantling the entire car (including removal of the new headlight assemblies). Once the body shop began to remove the headlights they notified me that the left headlight had been damaged at the leveling screw and the mechanic glued it onto the car.

Also, the left headlight had a piece on the back side that was completely broken off. When I called and complained to my service advisor Aiisha at Bob Smith, they of course denied that they damaged either headlight and blamed the body shop, even though I told them that the lights had not even been removed from the car yet. Then they sent James the mechanic who installed the headlights over to the body shop.

Coincidentally, I was there when he arrived. He looked at the headlights, said he had no idea how they were damaged and started to say it had something to do with the car being in an addition. I then explained to him that the car was in a minor front end accident, but that it was BEFORE I had the new headlights installed. After that he started yelling about how he did work on my car for free, which was a total lie, if anything I was overcharged for his labor every time he worked on my car. After he left, I phoned Aiisha, and she started to tell me how the body shop damaged both headlights and was trying to blame it on Bob Smith, and she started to question the integrity and business practices of.

At this point I spoke to Brian Howie Howard, the service manager and Bob Smith BMW. He too, would not admit that they damaged the headlights, or would put in defective headlights. I also told him that it didn't make sense for my body shop to go to the trouble of gluing the light back on only to turn around and tell me about it. Finally, Howie agreed to reimburse me for the cost of new headlights, but not before they told us one price and then it turned out to be another. I will not let anyone at Bob Smith BMW, especially James touch my car ever again. Steer clear of them at all costs! Because it will no doubt end up costing you more in the long run.
