Ok, so I miseed about an hour of work to call and get my money refunded and it's been nothing but hassles all day. The first time I called the person who answered IMMEDIATELY went into a sales pitch about how I qualified for an employees discount, then I interruped in mid-sentence and stated what I wanted. And she continued with "we like to make our customers happey so can I interest you in..." and that's when I just hung up.

So I call back and get a different person who says "hold on let me transfer you to our customer service department (keep in mind I called the CUSTOMER SERVICE NUMBER) so I said "NO". I'm going to tell YOU what I want and that's that. Then she went into a whole thing about how "she's doing her job according to policy, etc." which is when I hung up again.

Then I call back a third time and immediately ask to speak with someone from the department thathandles finances. Then I wait for literally six minutes. When someone answered and I told them what I wanted they were like "Uhh, let me ask my manager if we can do that because I don't have any record of payment made by you so let me place you old on." So I wait another three minutes then the comes back with "We'll have to pull that call from the file and see exactly what was said but why do you want to cancel?" and I just flat out said that's beside the main issue here and you are really pissing me off. I have a BANK RECORD that shows me you deducted $395 from my account without my periosmission, so this is your last chance to CANCEL THE F*KING POLICY and give me some sort of tracking number so I can track my refunded money or this entire thing is going to get really messy.

Then she spent like two minutes trying to tell me that she can't give a tracking number 'because it has to be processed by some other department' yadi yadi ya. Then I ask "then what legal record do I have that you're going to do what you said you were going to do?" And the response I got was "Oh sir you can take our word..." when I stopped her and literally YELLED, "I'M NOT GOING TO ARGUE WITH YOU AND I DON'T HAVE TIME FOR THIS BULLS*T WITH YOU. Cancel the policy and give me some legal record that you did. Then the dumb b*ch said "here's the tracking number: xxx-xx-xx-xxxx"&which is the SAME F*KING NUMBER THEY GAVE ME WHEN THEY CONFIRMED my card number. So I took note of this and said "well that's the same number you gave me yesterday for the charge. Then she goes into this whole thing about it's company policy to only keep track of people using their customer ID number for privacy concerns yadi yadi bulls*t.

At this point I'm f*king steaming so again, I yell "I NEED LEGAL documentation of some sort that you're going to cancel the policy and refund my money as you said you would" and she once gain goes into the whole thing about "sir you have to trust us" and other s*t. So I ask for her name/extension/etc. Then she says "sir we cant give out our names for security reasons". WHAT KIND OF S*T IS THAT??? How the f*k can you be a LEGITIMATE company and take people's personal information, yet you can't provide them with ANY paper or electronic records of the business that you're doing together, and you withhold names and contact information about your business?

Anyway, by the end of the phone call I kept being told that they would cancel it. I had to get back to class so I just hung up and left. I then called my credit card company and explained to them what I was told and they told me basically the same thing that they said last night about not being able to stop payment.

Then I call them back after lunch here and they tell me that because of their 24-hour hold period, IF (and note that's a big "if") they canceled the policy like they said—and since it hasn't been 24 hours—they money should actually never leave my accound and the "pending" should disappear next to the charge. If not, this whole thing can drag out to at least two months after a dispute is filed.

So we'll have to see what happens tonight by midningt.
